Yes there is a new mix in the fountain! This one took me longer to put together than I thought. My optimism met my perfectionism and perfectionism won both the day and night.
A complete list of the artists in the mix follows. Scroll to the end for links to particular tracks. I’ll divulge one juicy detail here at the start which is that this mix is the first regular mix to feature my own music! Yes, that’s right Whetzel is in the fountain this time not only as a curatorial spirit but in the form of sound.

As I mentioned above, I’ve included some of my own tracks in this mix. Here they are.
The first is a bit of poly-rhythmic primarily instrumental hip hop called “About Love” I made this under the name DJ Baba James for the album “The House of Good Juju” http://soundcloud.com/jameswhetzel/about-love
The next of my own tunes is the track “Gotham City” which was made with my group Mean Deep. Mean Deep is the dynamic duo of myself and my brother from another mother Shree Dee. The track is instrumental and mixes sarod, tabla, drum kit, and darbouka.

And among the recent releases in the mix is “Alladin Dub” by Zeb the Spy from Cairo. This one is from the 2012 release “Arabadub.”
